Event: Sunshine Week FOIA 101 Workshop

Whether you’re a FOIA first-timer or just looking to pick up some pro tips, this training will give you the guidance you need to file requests properly and get responses that yield more information.

Award-winning journalists from MuckRock will cover how to get ideas on records requests you should be making, and they’ll go over the basics of the federal Freedom of Information Act and state records laws. You’ll learn how to overcome common sticking points that can slow down the process. You’ll leave with a game plan that will get you filing requests faster than you can say “sunshine!”
