How does your employer support charitable giving?
Transferring stock
Transferring Stock
Donate your appreciated stock directly to FAC, and you can receive an immediate income-tax deduction for the securities' fair market value on the date of transfer (even if you originally paid much less for them). FAC sells your securities and uses the proceeds to support our mission. You do not pay capital gains tax on the transfer when the stock is sold. Giving appreciated stock can be more beneficial than giving cash. The “cost” of your gift is often less than the deduction you gain by making it. In advance, thank you for making this generous gift. To gift stock to FAC you'll need the following information: Broker Info: DTC # and Account # /Account Registered as: First Amendment Coalition, 534 Fourth St., Suite B, San Rafael, CA 94901 Please speak to your tax advisor and then call FAC at 415-460-5060 to notify us of your donation or with any questions.Employer Matching Funds
Employer Matching Funds
Many companies offer matching gift programs. Companies like to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Some employers provide matching funds to support employee volunteer hours too. Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar, and some will even double or triple the amount of your gift! Please check with your employer to see if you can increase the impact of your gift with their match. FAC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, EIN: 33-0308483. Mail your completed matching-gift form that requires our signature to: First Amendment Coalition 534 Fourth St., Suite B, San Rafael, CA 94901 / Phone: 415-460-5060Making an Impact
“In 2022, FAC served record numbers of constituents. We armed journalists with essential knowledge and tools and empowered them to do the important work of informing their communities. We provided custom workshops to empower Californians in their pursuit of facts and justice. We stood up for people being silenced and intimidated by government”
David Snyder, FAC Executive Director
FAC 2022 Impact Report
Tasha Williamson,
Social Justice Activist and Founder of Exhaling Injustice
“I wanted more community members to know their rights, and FAC was very supportive." In 2022, FAC partnered with Williamson for a three-day community education series. "Most of the time activists are seen in the streets and at meetings, but being able to make government information available to the the public, it's huge."
“I want our publications to remember their special role in the community and continue the tradition of holding public bodies and officials accountable. That's why I turned to FAC's experts to lead our educational workshops on accessing records and goverment meetings.”
Regina Brown Wilson,
Executive Director, California Black Media
