While reporting on fentanyl overdoses in Chico, California, TV reporter Meaghan Mackey was physically and verbally attacked, ending her live-stream report. She was not injured seriously. Mackey was working for Redding’s KRCR television station and relased this statement after the attack: “Thank you to anyone who has reached out or expressed their concerns. I appreciate your kind words of support. I will not live in fear of doing my job.
