Texas prosecutors drop case charging teacher with sexting student

A Texas appeals court ruled that teachers may legally send sexually explicit texts to under age students prompting prosecutors to drop a case against a Fort Worth area teacher charged with sending  688 sexually explicit messages to a 13-year-old in six days. A ruling last year in the appeals court concluded that the 2005 law making sexting between adults and children illegal was overbroad and a violation of free speech. In that case the court made a distinction between thoughts and actions. (Courthouse News Service, February 25, 2014, by David Lee)
