Virtual series examines the way judges deal with news media

The Berkeley Judicial Institute is holding a series of virtual programs on why and how judges should deal with the news media. On June 16 at noon, Pacific, it’s why judges should communicate with the media; June 23 at noon, Pacific, how judges should communicate with the media in general; and June 30 at noon Pacific, how judges should communicate with the media during a case. FAC is a co-sponsor of the series. (Berkeley Law, June 2023)

Former federal judge Jeremy Fogel thinks the judicial system does not have to insulate themselves from public scrutiny. Through the virtual programs called “Judges and the Press,” Fogel hopes to encourage judges and reporters to work together to open the judicial process to the public.
