Report criticizes CIA for coverup related to filming of ‘Zero Dark Thirty’

The Project on Government Oversight (POGO) obtained a document allegedly showing that while the CIA was withholding information about the hunt for Osama bin Laden from Congress and the public, they gave secret information to the makers of the film “Zero Dark Thirty”  that told the story of how the U.S. tracked and killed bin Laden. Defense Inspector General Lynne Halbrooks allegedly covered up the transaction. (POGO, April 16, 2015, by Adam Zagorin)

Senator Charles Grassley of R-Iowa criticized Halbrooks for the coverup, “Conducting thorough investigations and releasing reports that tell the truth are the bread and butter of every inspector general’s office. It has to happen, whatever it takes, and that might include changes in leadership and policy.” (Government Executive, April 20, 2015, by Charles S. Clark)
