Federal appeals court rules tax-exempt groups can protect donor identities

A federal appeals court ruled that tax-exempt groups raising money for campaign ads can keep their donor lists secret.

A Democratic congressman who had sued the Federal Election Commission to force disclosure of donor identities said the ruling “struck a blow against transparency in the funding of political campaigns.” -db
