Opinion: California state government criticized for trashing Constitutional principle

A Bay Area city councilman blasted California’s governor and legislature for throwing the Constitution under the bus in withholding the funding for an important facet of the state’s open meeting law, the posting of notices of public meetings in advance.

The legislature, said Don Tatzin of the Lafayette City Council, forgot that even though the public delegated the decision-making to elected officials, they have the right to be informed about every move to insure they can wisely exercise ultimate control. -db
