Berkeley Unified covering up cost of contesting sexual harassment case

The Berkeley Unified School District admits to spending $151,500 to fight a sexual harassment claim by a student against her counselor but has refused a Public Records Act request to reveal the entire amount spent on the case.

Peter Scheer of the First Amendment Coalition characterized the response of the district to the request as “a total, Kremlin-like institutional silence.” -db
