Food and Drug Administration under fire for booting whistleblowers

Six scientists and physician are contending that the Food and Drug Administration retaliated against them for trying to warn Congress that medical devices were readied for approval without adequate safety reviews.

Supervisors who disagreed with the whistleblowers approved all the devices. An editorial in The New York Times contended that the FDA managers responsible for such actions as interrupting e-mails to Congress or bringing criminal charges against whistleblowers should be held accountable.  -db

  • Whistleblowers and their insider understanding of the facts and motivations are the only surefire reliable method to force all decision makers into a consistent defensive mode of honesty and where they work for righteousness instead of corrupt cronyism.

    If they believe they can be exposed they will see the light and not be corrupted. If they think they can get away with cronyism and be paid for play they will be corrupt. A billion paid to whistleblowers would save a trillion.
