Commentary: Journalism becoming reactive rather than proactive

The director of Iowa State’s journalism school, Michael Bugeja, says that with the cutbacks in journalists generating content on location, journalism has been dominated by the likes of satirist Jon Stewart and activist Julian Assange. Bugeja says, “By elevating access over truth, ours has become a world that reacts via commentary rather than prevents in advance of calamity.” -db

  • Journalism is partially reactive instead of proactive because of the agenda of owners of media corps. Money talks, bullshit (pardon the phrase) walks and delusions continue to ride the ether waves.
