UC Berkeley Law School Dean Erwin Chemerinsky with other prominent scholars filed a brief with the U.S. Supreme Court arguing that Trump’s acts during the January 6 insurrection disqualify him from running for office. Conservative legal scholar and former judge J. Michael Luttig has been in the forefront in arguing for Trump’s disqualification. Luttig reaffirmed the role of the Constitution in damning Trump’s actions, “The Constitution itself tells us that disqualification of the former president is not anti-democratic.
