Twitter flunks hate assessment

The advocacy group GLADD found that Twitter ranks last in protecting LGBTQ users from hate and harassment. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube also received low or failing scores but showed some improvement from last year. Every week, someone in the LGBTQ community faces doxxing, suffering the release of private information without their permission that harasses, threatens, shames and takes revenge. GLADD assessed whether the companies adopted policies to protect users from harm. GLADD said the social media companies play a leading role in spreading hate and lies and that politicians and lobbyists lift language from posts to use against the LGBTQ community.
