Coal company fighting to withhold details of coal plant emissions

The Luminant Generation Company sued the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to block it from releasing what it called “confidential business information” that could help activists from closing down two coal-fired electric plants. The Justice Department (DOJ) has been enforcing provisions of the Clean Air Act on behalf of the EPA. Last November the DOJ released a document containing a complaint concerning two Laminant coal plants that had undergone renovations increasing sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions.
