Supreme Court seems likely to prevent states from restricting Biden contact with media

The U.S. Supreme Court indicated they were reluctant to allow states to stop the Biden administration from contacting media companies to persuade them not to publish hurtful speech. In their questioning, conservative justices John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett expressed concerns about limiting the government’s ability to discuss concerns with the media. Kavanaugh said it was common for the government to question a news story on surveillance or detention policy that could hinder the U.S. in a war effort and jeopardize the lives of troops.
