Supreme Court pulls plug on Trump tax returns

After months of delay the U.S. Supreme Court acted on an emergency request from the Manhattan District Attorney for former President Donald Trump’s tax records. With no noted dissents, the Court rejected Trump’s bid to keep the records sealed. It is thought that the investigation into his affairs involve tax violations and insurance and banking fraud. Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance obtained more than tax returns with the Supreme Court decision. Trump’s accountants must also surrender business records underlying the tax returns and exchanges between them and the Trump organization.(The New York Times, February 22, 2021, by Mike McIntire)
