Trump effect: Net neutrality threatened with dodo bird treatment

After failing to reconfirm a Democrat commissioner on the Federal Communications Commission, the Trump administration seems poised to scuttle network neutrality rules passed in 2015. The rules prevent powerful internet providers like Comcast and Verizon from charging websites a fee for faster speeds. Russel Brandom, The Verge, November 30, 2016, wrote that while Trump officials said they wanted to end net neutrality, it may be difficult for even a Republican-dominated FCC to replace it. It is also possible that Congress passes a law weakening net neutrality.
