Widow sues Twitter for failure to stop ISIS recruiting online

A widow is suing in federal court claiming that Twitter was complicit in the killing of her husband in a terrorist attack in Amman, Jordan in 2015. She says Twitter has empowered ISIS  to grow into a deadly force positing 90 tweets a minute as of December 2014 to recruit nearly 20,000 followers including the lone wolf terrorist that killed her husband.  (Courthouse News Service, January 14, 2016, by Nicholas Iovino)

The woman alleges that Twitter is in violation of the Anti-Terrorism Act and “‘purposefully, knowingly or with willful blindness’ provided ‘material support to the preparation and carrying out of acts of international terrorism, including the attack in which Lloyd Fields Jr. was killed.'” Twitter is expected to defend itself by citing the Communications Decency Act that protects website providers from liability for users’ posts.
