Pasadena: Court orders police to release report on shooting of unarmed college student

A California appeals court found that under the California Public Records Act, the Pasadena police were required to release an independent consultant’s report of the shooting death of a college student by Pasadena officers. Part of the report could be redacted since it involved police personnel records. (Metropolitan News-Enterprise, September 11, 2015, by Kenneth Ofgang)

The police union had tried to stop the release but the court ordered more of the report released to the public including the consultant’s recommendations. (Los Angeles Times, September 10, 2015, by Richard Winton)
