Federal appeals court withholds search warrants from public

The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the media had no First Amendment right to police documents concerning search warrants.

The court said that the media could gain access by showing “that the public’s right to know outweighs interests of privacy in sealing a particular document.” -db
