U.S. District Court Judge Shira Scheindlin issued a landmark e-discovery decision on the adequacy of self-search by government agencies under the Freedom of Information Act. In making the decision, Scheindlin set out some guidelines for “reasonable search” and quoted Louis Brandeis, “Sunlight is said to be the best of disinfectants; electric light the most efficient policeman.” -db
