PayPal curtails censorship after complaints from free speech advocates

PayPal said it would began accepting transactions involving books containing descriptions of rape, incest and bestiality. Free speech organizations had earlier protested that under PayPal policy classics such as Sophocles’ Oedipus and Ovid’s Metamorphoses would be censored.

PayPal said it would still censor e-books that violated U.S. obscenity laws. -db
