Journalist’s arrest serious blow to democracy in Turkey

A Turkish investigative reporter was arrested on charges of plotting to overthrow the government. Ironically, he had been investigating the plot only a year earlier.

Human rights groups say the government is trying to silence critics with a campaign that puts the government’s commitment to democracy in question. -db
