Editorial: Decision on Santa Monica jet flights not revealed in accordance with open meeting act

The Santa Monica Daily Press is alleging that the Santa Monica City Council failed to inform the public of an important decision not to pursue a lawsuit after a federal court had stopped the city from enforcing a ban on certain categories of jets at Santa Monica airport.

The city council made the decision in closed session then failed to announce it within 24 hours which the Daily Press feels is a violation of the Brown Act, California’s open meeting law. -db
