Charged with violating the Brown Act by secretly voting on 15 candidates running for senate position, the Associated Student Senate at Santa Barbara City College
plans a revote this week. A Native American student, Ashleigh Brown, was not appointed in the secret ballot process, nor were the reasons for her denial addressed in open meeting. After she and her supporters turned out to protest the vote, the Senate rescinded the secret vote. -DB
