Can a member of the public ask during Closed Session Report what persons, by name, attended that closed session, and, if there were indeed administrators, ask what the reasons were they were there?

Releasing settlement information on a public employee’s termination

[…] District Attorney file criminal charges against the employee, and it was recommended that she be fired immediately. Apparently, the DA declined to prosecute, but I am told by an excellent source that an exhaustive investigative report was prepared by the investigator. I need help in getting information describing the "incidents," and getting a copy […]

Citizen access to City financial reports

For the past year and a half, I have been attending our local City Council Meetings. I have determined by the current By-Laws that the Treasurer is required to file quarterly financial reports with the City, and I am attempting to access said reports. As a citizen do I have a right to this information?

    Are letters to legislators public?

[…] letters appeared to be from private individuals, not on behalf of any organization or business (one of those two was a copy of an opposition letter submitted by me, as an individual). The third redacted letter was from a lawyer, on his office stationery. Redactions like that put the opponents of a bill who […]

Free speech “cornered” in downtown park

When I led a petition drive against a school board, I wanted to set up in the downtown park.  I was told by the downtown workers that I had to stand in a corner of the park away from the public. It has been a while since this but it is still going on. […]
