Fox News no longer so keen for Trump

President Donald Trump has enjoyed the support of Fox News during his presidency with their most prominent hosts advising him on crucial campaign decisions. But Trump was furious when the network was one of the first to call Arizona for President-elect Joe Biden. Trump attributed Fox’s high ratings to his presence and was unhappy whenever Fox did something to displease him. Fox increasingly found his demands problematic. One of the most dramatic instances of the fallout occurred when Fox anchor Neil Cavuto recently silenced the White House Press Secretary when, in her questionable dual role as campaign spokesperson, she outlined Trump’s refusal to concede the election. Cavuto cut into her statement saying in part, “She’s charging the other side is welcoming fraud and welcoming illegal voting, unless she has more details to back that up, I can’t in good countenance continue showing this.” (Mediaite, November 9, 2020, by Colby Hall)
