Free press at work: Fox TV host unhappy about reports of his sexist and racist comments

Conservative Fox TV host Tucker Carlson is chaffing over the reports of a 24-year-old researcher for the liberal group Media Matters for America. Madeline Peltz noticed in watching Carlson’s TV show that Carlson was introducing white supremacy ideas to his listeners. She researched his past appearances, uncovering a number of racist, misogynistic and homophobic remarks. In an appearance on SiriusXM’s SignalBoost, Peltz commented on Carlson’s charge that the liberal media were a “mob” conspiring to silence him. “…I think that this specter of ‘the mob’ that he is trying to invoke in his defense is really a weak one, especially because it’s just a sort of rhetorical turn of phrase to stop himself and other conservative media figures from being held responsible for their reckless rhetoric, so it’s really a last line of defense and it’s not working.” (Media Matters for America, March 13, 2019)
