With an alleged egregious act of violence St. Louis police damage reporter’s career

A St. Louis journalist is suing the city and a number of its police officers for unlawful arrest and assault committed while he was covering a September 2017 peaceful protest march over a police shooting. Even though the reporter Mike Faulk wore his press credentials around his neck, police threw him to the ground, assaulting him further by hitting him with a baton and pepper spraying him. He was charged with failing to disperse. (Courthouse News Service, February 26, 2018, by Matt Reynolds)

On returning to work at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, owing to conflict of interest, he was not given the assignments in his usual beat, a number of government  issues. Still suffering from nightmares and stress, he took a medical leave of absence in January and fears he will never work as reporter in St. Louis again.  (Riverfront Times, February 23, 2018, by Doyle Murphy)
