The TechDirt website is facing a $15 million lawsuit by a deep pocket antagonist who could well bankrupt the company the way billionaire Peter Thiel put Gawker Media down. Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai objects to TechDirt posts that said Ayyadurai did not as he claims invent e-mail. Many scientists and academicians have cast doubt on Ayyadurai’s claim. The company plans to fight the lawsuit to the bitter end which may well be bitter for TechDirt given that legal fees could put them out of business even if they are not committing libel.
