Journalists chafing under NCAA restrictions

Journalists are frustrated over the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s failure to talk over rules affecting their ability to cover college sports. Ten media groups sent a letter to the NCAA asking them to schedule meetings to resolve their differences. “Some reporters have been told they may lose their credential if they post more than 20 updates on social media during live coverage of a game,” said Kevin Goldberg, an attorney for the American Society of Newspaper Editors. A recent NCAA decision would also move 30 percent of the media seating at the Final Four from the court to more a  location that would make it  more difficult for reporters to do their job. (Sherman Report, February 21, 2013, by Ed Sherman) -db
