South Korean internet users critical of government officials have been blocked, accused of criminal defamation and fired from government jobs recently as South Korea has assaulted Internet freedom in a startling departure in the flourishing democracy.
The country, reeling from online profanities, pornography and challenges to authority, is finding it a challenge to support free speech. -db
