Chicago: Public employees finding success in contesting firings for expressing their views

The U.S. Supreme Court 2006 decision Garcetti v. Ceballos granted public employers wide powers to dismiss employees, but 7th Circuit judges have narrowed the bounds of the decision to allow employees to express their views on matters of public importance  and retain their jobs. -db
