Federal judge rules nursing student waived free speech rights in violating confidentiality pledge

A former University of Louisville nursing student disciplined for writing about patients on My Space cannot collect damages for violation of her First Amendment rights, a federal judge ruled.

The judge noted the student waived her free speech rights when she agreed not to post information about patients on the Internet that could be read by the public. -db
