Minnesota mother sues school district for punishing daughter over Facebook entry

A mother is suing a Minnesota school district for violating her 12-year-0ld daughter’s First Amendment rights. The school punished the girl for saying a hall monitor was mean.

The complaint says the girl’s comments on Facebook could not cause a substantial disruption to the school and was not obscene or threatening. -db
