Brown Act roundup: Burbank teachers protest failure to report out of closed session

Burbank teachers are protesting what they claim is a violation of the Brown Act, California’s open meeting law, during the process of hiring a new district superintendent. A Marin County non-profit concerned with development issues filed a lawsuit that alleges that the county board of supervisors discussed a topic in open meeting not on any agenda. Community Venture Partners claimed the error occurred in a August 19 meeting, and in subsequent actions, the supervisors have not acknowledged the error. The Hanford Sentinel protested when the Hanford City Council agreed to bring back at a future council meeting an issue regarding a movie theater in a local mall.
