California Supreme Court upholds right of unions to picket stores

California’s Supreme Court upheld state laws granting unions the right to picket a store’s parking lot and set up on private sidewalks but restricted activities that might hurt business including large signs or loud sound systems.

The ruling upholds union First Amendment rights but limits prohibits activities that are not persuasive. -db
