Federal judge orders U.S. to pay legal fees of immigrant over FOIA request

A federal district judge found that the Immigration and Naturalization Service had violated the Freedom of Information Act in denying a legal U.S. resident of documents related to his immigration. The court ordered the government to pay the man’s legal fees of $318,568. -db
