Opinion: Suggestions made for saving news industry

Speakers at a conference for media executives urged them to bolster the bottom line by radically changing the way they presented the news.

Among their suggestions were to provide more context for and linkages to the news; provide more analysis; and employ alternatives to the narrative form, e.g., “Fusion Tables and query strings, status updates and tweets.” -db
